BackThe programme for next month's FemStart conference is now online
In 2008, the FemStart roadshow continues its journey east with the 4th debate taking place in Riga. The programme for the FemStart Riga offers a mix of contributions from the Baltic region and other corners of Europe.
Representatives from renowned institutions in Riga will help raise awareness of the issue that too little is being made of the potential offered by women with regard to starting up technology businesses which can make a substantial contribution to the country's economy.
From elsewhere, high-ranking experts from the world of entrepreneurship and support programmes will introduce participants to tools that are already being implemented, or will inform about why awareness of the issue is so low.
Invited experts include Prof. Baiba Rivza, Minister of Education and Science, Prof. Tatjana Volkova, rector of the BA School of Business and Finance, Christina Diegelmann from the Ministry of Economic Affairs in Baden-Württemberg and Tiia Raudma from neighbouring Estonia's Ministry of Education and Research. From elsewhere, representatives from University of Potsdam, INI-Novation, Latvian Technological Centre will also attend to introduce programmes that are helping high-tech women entrepreneurs achieve success in their businesses.
