High Technology Small Firms Conference, May 21-23, 2008, Enschede, The Netherlands

FemStart partner Nikos (Dutch Institute for Knowledge Intensive Entrepreneurship) of the University of Twente and the Manchester Business School (MBS), have the pleasure of inviting you to the High Technology Small Firms (HTSF) conference on May 21-23 2008, in Enschede, The Netherlands.

This international conference provides a unique opportunity for academics, opinion formers, policy makers and practitioners to discuss the latest developments in the field of HTSF’s. We offer academic research as well as practically orientated parallel sessions. The conference starts with a doctoral workshop.

Key note speaker: Andrew H. Van de Ven, Vernon H. Heath Professor of Organizational Innovation and Change from the University of Minnesota, Carlson School of Management
Invited speaker Shaker A. Zahra, Robert E. Buuck Chair of Entrepreneurship, Professor of Strategy and Organization in the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota and 3TU Professor of International Entrepreneurship at the University of Twente.

We offer specialty tracks on:
• the incubation process & incubators (see also www.service-incubator.com); in co-organization with NENSI (North European Network for Service Incubators),
• European approaches of research on Technoentrepreneurship which will be co-organized by François Thérin, editor of the International Journal of Technoentrepreneurship (see also www.technoentrepreneurship.com) and William Lekse from the University of Michigan-Dearborn.
• International Entrepreneurship (a co-production of the 3 Dutch Technical Universities of Delft, Eindhoven and Twente – 3TU)

Abstracts & Papers - Submission dates
• Initial abstracts (500 - 700 words) should be submitted by Monday February 4, 2008.
• Full papers are to be submitted by Monday April 21, 2008.
• To be accepted, papers should be presented at the conference.
• All papers presented, will be considered for inclusion in the annually published “New technology-based firm” book series.

Conference fee
The full conference fee for two days is approximately € 495 and includes participation in the conference, conference catering, conference documentation and participation in the Best Paper Award. The fee is payable by both delegates and speakers and does not include the partner program. PhD students who participate in the doctoral workshop will receive a reduction of € 150 on the full conference fee.
