BackDINAMICS is co-funded by the European Commission as an Integrated Project (IP) under the 6th Framework Programme.
Aim of DINAMICS: Development of a biosensor with the help of nanotechnology.
According a gender statistic (2007) on the workforce employed by the DINAMICS project, the percentage of women involved in the project is more than 30%.
The Integrated Project DINAMICS, with SEZ as partner, started in April 2007 with a focus on SME participation. The project is funded by the European Union with about 4.5 million Euros until March 2011. According a gender statistic (2007) on the workforce employed by the DINAMICS project, the percentage of women involved in the project is more than 30%.
The EU-research project plans the development of a biosensor for the exact analysis of water quality. This new development is to be based on nanotechnology and will help to prevent bioterrorist attacks on the drinking water supply. The objective of DINAMICS is the development of a warning system that can identify dangerous infectious agents, such as bacteria and viruses. For the reliable surveillance of the drinking water supply DINAMICS foresees a portable measuring instrument for special assignments, which among other applications should contribute to the security of everyone involved at major sporting events.
Currently 14 project partners from 9 countries are active in DINAMICS, including 8 small and mid-sized as well as other enterprises, universities and research institutions. The partners are from Germany, Great Britain, Italy, the Netherlands, Austria, Slovakia, Turkey and Hungary. The project is coordinated by LAMBDA GmbH, an Austrian SME.
Steinbeis-Europa-Zentrum assisted the project partners in writing the proposal and during the contract negotiations in Brussels and is now, as project partner, responsible for the management of knowledge as well as administrative and financial project management.
